Stewardship and its role
The Stewards support habitat conservation through the Reserve’s land acquisition program under the Great Bay Resource Protection Partnership. Established in 1994, the Partnership represents a group of the State’s leading natural resource organizations. Working in a twenty-four town region, to date the Partnership has protected over 10,000 around Great Bay.
In addition to land acquisition, the Stewards also support the sound management and stewardship of these protected lands. Steward members help organize and participate in annual work parties on projects designed to enhance the recreational opportunities and preserve the ecological features of each parcel.
