The Great Bay 5K, part of the Seacoast Road Race Series
One of our most favorite of events and most successful fundraisers for the Stewards is the Great Bay 5K, a wonderfully designed and executed road race that exposes much of our own Great Bay to the running public. Voted one of New England’s Top Ten Favorite 5K’s by Run New England, the Great Bay 5K starts at Stratham Hill Park and concludes at the Great Bay Discovery Center in Greenland, N.H. The Great Bay 5K is an annual fundraiser for the Great Bay Stewards, in support of the Great Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve and the Great Bay Discovery Center. Not a runner? Not a problem. Join the competitive walking division with awards for top male and female finishers. With a free kid’s Fun Run after the race, costume contest, and age group awards in eight different categories, this is an event the whole family can enjoy. The GB5K is part of the greater Seacoast Road Race Series, a series of eight road races dedicated and committed to ensuring the Seacoast is enjoyed to its full potential by runners, walkers, and spectators alike, giving back to the nonprofit community and assuring continuous support for causes that matter. Each of the races in the Seacoast Road Race Series provides a contribution to local nonprofits, such as the Great Bay Stewards. You can see information about all of the participating races here. But none shine quite as brightly as the GB5K (although of course we are biased, all the races are terrific). Please keep an eye on our facebook page for information on the current year’s race.
