The 2018 Great Bay 5K will be run on

An important fundraiser for the Great Bay Stewards, the Great Bay 5K is a fast, friendly and scenic road race that includes spectacular views of Great Bay. Voted one of New England’s Top Ten Favorite 5K’s by Run New England, The Great Bay 5K starts across from Stratham Hill Park and concludes at Great Bay Discovery Center in Greenland, N.H.

The Great Bay 5K features a very fast course, the unique MacKenzie Mile, long-sleeve “Made in USA” tech race shirts (you must register by September 26 to qualify for a race shirt), cash awards for the top finishers, age group awards, a ‘competitive walker’ division, a FREE kid’s fun run, costume contests in the 5K and fun run, and fantastic post-race eats.

NEW CASH RAFFLE!: Everyone registered in this year’s Great Bay 5K is automatically entered in a CASH raffle – no strings attached! The winner will be drawn at the race’s award ceremony.
‘TOP FINISHER’ AWARDS: The awards for the top 3 male/female runners are increasing to $200, $150, and $100.
‘BAY TOWN’ FINISHER AWARDS: There will be $20 awards for the first male/female finishers from each of the towns around Great Bay and Little Bay (Dover, Durham, Greenland, Newfields, Newington/Portsmouth, Newmarket, Stratham).
GREAT BAY STEWARD AWARDS: The first male/female finishers who are Great Bay Stewards members will also receive a $20 award.
MORE COSTUME CONTEST AWARDS: The Great Bay 5K Costume Contest will include awards for the best male/female costumed racers, the best family (minimum 1 adult and one child under 15) in costume, and the best mixed team (3 people minimum, including at least one female) in costume. The award in each category will be $53.27.
AGE GROUP AWARDS: The age groups for the GB5K are 9 and under; 10-14; 15-20; 21-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70-79; 80+. There will be cash awards for 1st place in groups age 21 and up, and cool merchandise awards for 2nd and 3rd place in each age group. Winners in the 3 youngest age groups will get cool merchandise awards.

The Great Bay 5K is the last of the 8 races in the Seacoast Road Race Series, all of which are fund-raisers for local non-profit organizations.  The Seacoast Road Race Series was created in 2005 to encourage fitness and healthy competition, and to highlight the beauty of racing in the greater NH-Maine seacoast. Complete 6 of the 8 races and earn a special award.
