  1. Raised more than $400,000 through our campaign for Glenn Cove, helping open this breathtaking property along the shores of Great Bay where visitors will be able to kayak, birdwatch, snowshoe, ice fish, and more.
  2. Enabled updates and brand-new exhibits over the years in the Discovery Center, including displays on the endangered saltmarsh sparrow, the interactive horseshoe exhibit, and the eelgrass display
  3. Launched the “Estuary Explorers” in 2018 program to support field trips for socioeconomically challenged schools, bringing hundreds of students on sponsored trips to Center
  4. Enabled the increase in the position of the Reserve’s Volunteer Coordinator from part time to full time
  5. Serve as a co-lead on the Seven Rivers to the Coast website and social media, a shared communications platform to connect residents with others who share a love for clean water and a health estuary
  6. Participate in other GB2030 work, including the Stewardship and Engagement workgroup, supporting projects that foster a culture of stewardship around our waterways
  7. Developed an entrance exhibit for the Hugh Gregg Coastal Conservation Center, including murals, a timeline of the Stewards accomplishments, and new floor
  8. Raised nearly $100,000 and supported AmeriCorps volunteers for the rebuilt Discovery Center boardwalk, with a more sustainable and durable design and public access 365 days a year
  9. Partner with the National Estuarine Research Reserve Association to help advocate for the 30 reserves nationwide, ensuring they are funded annually and amplifying their critical importance.
  10. Launched the Tide Turners program, encouraging area residents to commit to actions that improve the health of the estuary
  11. Support hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of grant funding through our role as a fiscal agent to the Reserve, including research on salt marsh migration, invasive species, sea level rise, and more
  12. Provide funding toward planning around the future of the Discovery Center
  13. Launched Great Bay Matters in 1994, and now provide financial support for the magazine’s printing and mailing
  14. Provided organizing support for regional science and resilience convenings, including the Coastal Adaptation Workgroup Climate Summit and the first GBNERR Research Symposium.
  15. Supported the installation of the osprey camera and related educational opportunities, continue to fund maintenance of the camera
  16. Partnered on the removal of the Upper and Lower Sawyer Mill dams on Dover’s Bellamy River, which reopened river habitat for migratory fish and protected the residents of nearby apartments from flood risks associated with the two dams
  17. Raised money to create nesting habitat for the endangered Blanding’s turtle
  18. Provide ongoing support for the Wildlife Garden at Chapman’s Landing, including plantings, workshops, signage, a solar powered water fountain and more
  19. Supported improved accessibility to the waterfront for all visitors, via the zigzag trail as well as the path to the Bay
  20. Fund capital projects at the Discovery Center campus such as the roof of the Depot House, as well as the side entrance decking and painting of the Hugh Gregg Center
  21. Through the Soak up the Rain program, planted numerous rain gardens at area residences and businesses
  22. Supported the installation of the Great Bay Special Collections exhibit, an interpretive historical museum on the history of Great Bay’s Natural Resources from Colonial Times to present.
  23. Obtained funding for the installation of the Estuary Inclusion Garden and more accessible playground equipment
  24. Funded design and development of Green Exhibits on the Discovery Center Campus
  25. Hold the Great Bay 5K annually, starting in 1999, which has raised more than $300,000 in support of the Reserve and brought thousands of racers along the Bay and to the Center
  26. Put on Art of Great Bay for 20 years, celebrating local artists and the beauty of the New England environment through paintings, photography, sculpture, and fine crafts
  27. Supported the 2017 installation of the Wellenberger Woods Natural Play Area, now a popular gathering spot for families
  28. Facilitated the construction of the Blue Heron Education Pavilion and the picnic tables
  29. Supported the design and construction of geothermal-run stream on the Discovery Center Campus
  30. Supported staffing and administration of Great Bay Kids Ecology Club, a program for disadvantaged youth in the Seacoast Area
