Letter-press greeting cards, brand new candles made locally, formal dresses, Christmas caroler figurines – the racks and shelves of Kittery, Maine-based The Fabulous Find are packed with treasures, and the crowded aisles indicate how many area residents know about the store. And those bargains don’t just benefit the buyer – The Fabulous Find is a non-profit resale boutique that benefits the local community, supporting Piscataqua Region arts, environment, food pantry, fuel assistance, animal shelter, and educational organizations selected each month.

The Great Bay Stewards were thrilled to be chosen by the shop as one of three non-profit organizations to receive funds collected during the month of August 2023.  Based on sales of new and gently used items at the store during the entire month, the Great Bay Stewards received a check from the non-profit thrift shop for $11,892.32.

“We were so grateful for this opportunity,” says Steve Paquette, vice chair of the Great Bay Stewards Board of Trustees. “We know the staff and volunteers at The Fabulous Find have so many non-profit organizations interested in their support, and we were thrilled to be chosen as a beneficiary. Funds raised will go toward opening public access at Glenn Cove in Greenland, N.H., a spectacular property on the shores of Great Bay where future visitors can birdwatch, angle, kayak, go smelt fishing, snowshoe, and more.”

Great Bay Stewards shared The Fabulous Find’s August profits with North Berwick Historical Society and Stratham Historical Society. In addition to the funds donated to the Great Bay Stewards, The Fabulous Find has donated over $2.6 million dollars since July 2010 to hundreds of non-profit organizations, and more than $186,000 so far in 2023. The Stewards are thankful to have been selected by the shop.
